Have you seen Taylor Tomasi Hill in the latest issue of The Block? It's strange to see Taylor in a magazine editorial. She looks different. My favourite image of her is this one - wearing Dries, of course :) Happy Friday! Are you doing anything exciting this weekend? I'm aiming to recap Spring/Summer 2012 fashion week in between completing things for the markets. Have lots of fun! x.

"I asked him did he really love New York or was he just wearing the shirt. He smiled, like he was nervous. I could tell he didn't understand, which made me feel guilty for speaking English, for some reason. I pointed at his shirt. "Do? You? Really? Love? New York?" He said, "New York?" I said, "Your. Shirt." He looked at his shirt. I pointed at the N and said "New," and the Y and said "York." He looked confused or embarrassed, or surprised, or maybe even mad. I couldn't tell what he was feeling, because I couldn't speak the language of his feelings. "I not know was New York. In Chinese, ny means 'you.' Thought was 'I love you,'" It was then that I noticed the "I NY" poster on the wall, and the "I NY" flag over the door, and the "I NY" dishtowels, and the "I NY" lunchbox on the kitchen table. I asked him, "Well, then why do you love everybody so much?"

A few Fridays ago, Nic and I attended the Bicycle Film Festival at the Sydney Opera House. We watched the highly anticipated documentary, Bill Cunningham New York. I absolutely loved it. Prior to the screening, I knew little about Mr. Cunningham - I had only seen his photographs in The New York Times. The man lives and breathes fashion/photography. He's such an inspiration. x.

A few Saturdays ago, Dan and I celebrated his birthday with poached eggs and toast (corn fritters for moi) at Ampersand Cafe & Bookstore. It had been a while since we last saw each other so there was lots to talk about including life as a twenty-five year old and Dan's big move to London. I'm yet to turn twenty-five but already, it's funny where life takes you. x.

It's been a while since my last blog post. My poor MacBook no longer has the stamina to keep up (I'm using Uncle T's MacBook Pro) :( Having had little connection to the internet, it made me aware* of how important it is in today's society. The internet is such a powerful source of communication. It provides us with information (fact or fiction), grants us access into the unknown, and allows us to feel connected, no matter where we are in the world.

Spring/Summer 2012 Fashion Week has come and gone. I will post a round-up of my favourite designer looks when I get the chance to go through them. In the meantime, I will leave you with images of the delightful (I've been watching too much 'Mad Men') Taylor Tomasi Hill during the collections. x.
